A Calm, supportive space where young people can be themselves, our weekly SEN & Autism Youth Group has been created especially for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autistic young people.

We understand that social situations can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why our sessions are designed to be relaxed, welcoming and inclusive. There is no pressure to join every activity—young people are encouraged to participate in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Our aim is to provide a safe space where young people can build confidence, develop friendships, explore their interests and simply enjoy spending time with others who understand and accept them.

Activities

Each week offers a range of structured and choice-based activities, allowing young people to engage at their own pace. Activities may include:

🧱 LEGO

🎲 Board games

⚽ Table football

🎨 Arts and crafts

📿 Bracelet making

🧩 Sensory activities

✨ Seasonal activities

Whether your young person prefers quiet creative activities or enjoys interactive games, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun in a supportive environment.

A Youth Group Designed with Neurodivergent Young People in Mind. We recognise that every young person is unique. Our sessions are planned to support a wide range of needs by providing:

A calm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
Small group sizes
Predictable routines where possible
Opportunities for both social interaction and independent activities
A sensory-aware environment
Supportive, understanding staff who value every young person’s individual strengths

Young people are never expected to take part in activities they don’t feel comfortable with, and we celebrate each individual’s way of communicating, engaging and participating, supporting social confidence.

Our Youth Group provides opportunities to:

• Build confidence in a safe environment
• Develop friendships with peers
• Improve communication and social skills naturally through play
• Explore new interests and hobbies
• Increase independence and self-esteem
• Feel accepted, respected and included

We believe every young person deserves a place where they feel they belong.

Parent & Carer Support Group

While your young person enjoys their session, parents and carers are warmly invited to join our Parent & Carer Support Group in the PFA Room.

Relax with a complimentary tea or coffee, meet other families who understand the journey of raising a neurodivergent child, share experiences or simply enjoy some time in a friendly and supportive environment.

To ensure we can provide the best possible support, places are limited and booking is essential.

Places are limited to just 12 young people per session to ensure every family enjoys a calm, comfortable and supportive experience. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Once you have booked, we will send a form for you to complete so that we can check accessibility requirements meet your child’s needs.

We look forward to meeting you.
